Help Central Elementary School Build a Playground
Local artist and Central parent, John T. Williams, Jr., has donated 250 prints of his
recent work of art entitled, Final Grade. The painting depicts a portion of
the old Albemarle High School (and Albemarle Middle School) building that will soon become
home to Central Elementary School later next year. All profits from the sale of this print will be
designated for playground equipment at the new school. Playground equipment is not included
in the new construction of the school and is very costly.
Central Elementary is very excited about moving into the school next year and wants to make it
"picture perfect" for students now and for years to come. The school's PTO hopes the community will
assist in this project by purchasing prints for only $20 (less than half of the retail price!).
The print makes a perfect gift for former teachers who taught in the building, school alumni,
current teachers and historic preservationist. Even if you are not affiliated with the school or
building in some way, the artwork makes the perfect addition of Stanly County artwork to
office and business walls in the area. Click here to learn more.
