Beach Blast 5K
The Uwharrie Running Club invites you to run/walk in the: Beach Blast 5K Saturday Morning 8:00 May 21st Albemarle, NC. Make sure you smile coming across the finish line as Carter Video will video the days Beach Blast activities and put together a 30-45 minute show to be broadcast on Local Cable Access Channel 7! Brian Carter said the program will probably run 3 or 4 times. Vac & Dash has agreed to be the sole sponsor of the program! Click here to learn more.

4th Annual Car Show
Registration from 2-4pm on Saturday May 21, 2005. Open to all cars and trucks 1978 and older! Trophies will be presented! Judging will be from 2pm-4pm. Awards at 6pm. Commemorative Dash Plaquest to the first 100 entries. Trophies will be presented in the following categories:

TAPESTRY Perform At The Market Station
The "Thursdays at the Station" weekly concert series is under way for 2005 at the Market Station facility on West Main Street in Albemarle on May 12. Sponsoring agency Albemarle Parks and Recreation invites everyone out for a great evening of music and fun! This coming Thursday, May 12th, Tapestry will perform on the Market Station stage. Albemarle's own Laura Kerr and Betsy Osborne are the members of this duet, and have been singing together for fourteen years. Tapestry offers a variety of music, with songs ranging from the 1930's to the present, and styles from the Andrews Sisters to Shania Twain. The performance promises to bring back many great memories. Concerts are held rain or shine every Thursday night at 8:00 p.m. from May to August. Audience members should bring yard chairs. Admission is free, and donations are encouraged and accepted, with all proceeds going to the performers. Concessions are also available at all concerts.
