Veterans Day Parade
November 11 was first proclaimed as Veterans Day in 1954 when President Eisenhower signed it into law. It was changed to the fourth Monday in October due to 1968 legislation. In 1978, in response to the large number of Americans that felt November 11 was a day of great importance - both in history and patriotically, it was agin recognized as Veterans Day.

Old Timey Day
The Taylor House, located at 319 Palmer Street in Albemarle, will host an Old Timey Day at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 16.
