Motivation for a Murder at Dennis Vineyard

6:30pm - 10:00pm July 18, 2009 - July 18, 2009
Welcome to an inspirational and motivational evening with the world-renowned motivational speaking team of Will N. Lighten and Knowie N. Lighten. You will be uplifted and encouraged as you hear their message of positive thinking and generous giving. As in any successful business, there are many people behind the scenes who help bring it all together. You'll want to meet Wiley Foxx, the administrator of N. Lighten Enterprises; accountant Booker B. Slick; Simplicity Simons, assistant to Will; and Will's sister and Image Consultant, Scarlett Hughes. It has come to our attention that Detective Frank Earnest is also in attendance, so if you've got anything to hide, you may not wish to seek him out! Motivational speakers talk a lot about harmony with others and feeling good about yourself...tonight, however, you may notice discord and ill will which lead to murder! It will be up to you and your table of fellow sleuths to discover who the killer is. So, think of a clever name for your table, er, detective agency, and listen carefully for clues. At the designated time, your agency will be asked to formulate a question that your delegated chief detective will ask a suspect. Once all tables have completed their questioning, each detective agency will submit a solution sheet indicating "who done it" and why. The agency to determine the most correct motive and culprit wins. Stories and Characters © 2006 It's A Mystery This Murder Mystery Dinner Theatre is put on by "It's A Mystery" from Raleigh. Uwharrie Players Spring Production "The Sound of Music" at The Stanly County Agri Civic Center

7:30pm - 9:30pm July 24, 2009 - July 26, 2009
"Let's start at the very beginning... a very good place to start." This final collaboration between Rodgers & Hammerstein was destined to become the world's most beloved musical. When a postulant proves too high-spirited for religious life, she is sent to serve as governess for the 7 children of a widowed naval Captain. Her growing love and rapport with the youngsters, coupled with her generosity of spirit, gradually captures the heart of the stern Captain, and they marry. Upon returning from their honeymoon they discover that Austria has been invaded by the Nazis, who demand the Captain's immediate service in their navy. The family's narrow escape over the mountains to Switzerland on the eve of World War II provides one of the most thrilling and inspirational finales ever presented in the theatre. Based on a true story, it has become a favored stage musical and remains the most popular movie musical of all time! For more information please visit www.uwharrieplayers.org

Last year we avg. about 175 people per every Movie Night. This event is free to the public as long as we get a sponsor for the event. Movies begin as Sunset and usually we do a pre-show at 7pm. The Movie Night was a great success. The cost to run the movie night is $1000.00 per movie. If you find a business that would like to sponsor but says they cant afford it then see if they would CO-Sponsor the event w/ someone. In these economic times it is cool w/ me if (4) businesses get together and sponsor an event.
