This restaurant was recommended to me by someone who apparently has low standards. They have all these wine awards on the lobby walls and almost no wine. This place is a bad joke.

I last came to this restaurant about 10 years ago and had to wait in line to get into the waiting line! Came last week and SURPRISE - Nobody. And, the food and service wasn't that good either. What happened! Someone at the motel said it had been sold by the original owner. It's a shame. It was so good.

I was reading the reviews and from what I read, it seamed that things had improved....NOT. The steak had the consistency of boiled leather. The meat smelled old and tasted worse. The potatoes should have been discarded hours before they were served to us. The cheese sauce for my daughter's broccoli looked like wall paper paste and had absolutely no cheese flavor of any variety. The food was cold. The wait staff looked less than happy to be there and treated us as if they didn't want us there either. The restaurant was dirty, the dishes were dirty. We had to go searching for someone to refill our beverages. I don't understand how they stay open......the dinning areas were less than half full, the waiting area empty, but the parking lot full of cars. There were loud, intoxicated people arguing with another car load of people in the lot as we left......NEVER to return!

Still the best steakhouse in NC. We love the sirloin or ribeye for 2. We also love the Leadbelly Cheese fries! They also have great pumpernickel bread and cheese and crackers.

Every time I visit Yadkin Valley the food is wonderful! I haven't been disappointed yet. We usually get filet mignon or ribeye and both are terrific. Love the loaded baked potato, the wonderful salad, and delicious tea. Terrific atmosphere and friendly staff.

I had dinner here for a birthday in August. To say the least it was not good. I had the ribeye and ordered it rare...rare it was not. It was tough and dry. I can honestly say the best part of my food that evening was the ranch dressing for my salad. I have been dining at Yadkin for years and in the past few years it has really gone down. Yadkin Valley was once the only restaurant in Albemerle where there was never a doubt that the food would be delish, the atmosphere quaint, and the service top notch. Not anymore and that is very sad. Seems like the owners should really seriously evaluate the restaurant business and get back to the basics of what makes a restaurant a success.

I worked at Yadkin Valley Steakhouse many years ago as a server. I live out of town now and had not been to the restaurant in several years until July 4th week 2011. I was shocked at how it has gone down. I was told that the original owners sold the restaurant 5 or 6 years ago. It was always maintained in pristine condition inside and out and now its a "dump" I mean literally a dump. The food quality and service has suffered also. I am very saddened.

It is rare that the meal and experience is better than expected ... but the place was wonderful. The entire experience was great. We had filets that were melt and your mouth good. We will be back.

Very upset with quality of service. Our waitress was Sandy, she looked as if she smoked her last joint right before coming to work. Had to beg for bread. I dont know why we always seem to get her as our waitress, Im assuming because we always leave above 20% tip. She is by far the worse waitress there.

Went to YV around 5:30PM and only two people in the waiting area. We waited for a short time and then seated. Many empty tables for a Saturday evening 6/13/09. We had eaten here several times in the past but were very disappointed this time. Our salads were very warm and the lettuce was turning brown and the ranch dressing did not taste as good either. The waitress did bring two salads but they were just as bad. The steak was mostly fat ($17.95) and not as good as our last visit 12/3/08. I also tried to order the baby fried shrimp side item but they were out even at 5:30. We finished what we could of the meal and left a little past 6:30 and noticed again only two people waiting to be seated. No large crowds on this date??????? Not sure we will back anytime soon!!!!!!!!!!!

I am so dissapointed with the experience I had at Yadkin Valley Friday June 5. With the exception of about 2 or 3 servers, you cant get the same service that Yadkin Valley was know for when the Hopkins owned it. Our dining experience would have been better at a truck stop, it was definately not a fine dining experience! Our waitress, was a middle aged lady, she had long hair, I will not call her name because I really dont want to cause any more embarrasment to her or the resturant, they do that on their own! Service was horrible, she was not friendly at all, was very slow, She never even offered to take our dirty dishes from the table. We were trying to enjoy our time with the family, at a nice resturant, we couldnt because there was dirty dishes everywhere! Who wants to sit there with dirty plates piled up everywhere. What has happened to customer service. The new owners either need to step it up, or put a for sale sign at the road!

Please don't confuse this with the Yadkin Valley Steakhouse which was here approximately 3 years ago when the original owners sold it. It has really gone down. There's no comparison!

There's so little light there until I'm afraid to go down there at night. All the lights outside have been burned out for weeks. Is anyone looking after this place?
